A world of differences

The subsequent multitude of perspectives existing in an international and multicultural environment provides a fertile ground for creative problem-solving and innovation. It can nevertheless also be a source of misunderstanding if different modes of perception, mental models and communication styles aren’t anticipated and recognized.
During this highly interactive workshop we will look at concrete examples on how our background and culture in which we grew up do impact the way we perceive behaviors and communication patterns. Easily applicable intercultural tools will enable participants to make sense of their own experiences working with individuals from around the globe.
The participants will walk away with immediately useful guidelines on how to bridge cultural differences and to develop their intercultural competences on a daily basis.

Ariane Curdy is the director of her own company CULTURE RELATIONS, specialized in intercultural perspectives crucial to success in an increasingly diverse and complex world.
Food and Economic Security expert in developing countries by first profession, she worked in humanitarian field for more than 15 years, and conducted missions in over 20 war-torn countries in Africa, Asia, The Balkans, The Caucasus, Central Asia and the Middle-East. She notably spent 2-3 months every year in Afghanistan from 1988 until 2000 for the ICRC.
After obtaining an executive degree in management and organization development in 2000, she specialized in intercultural dynamics at work and has been providing intercultural services for multinationals, governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as sports organizations and private companies since 2001.
