Marie Lam Frendo – A woman’s leadership journey from EPFL to the G20

Appointed CEO by the Board of the Global Infrastructure Hub on January 28th 2019, Marie leads the GI Hub efforts to support the G20 to drive an ambitious agenda on sustainable, resilient and inclusive infrastructure through action-oriented programmes.
Based in Sydney, Australia and Toronto, Canada the GI Hub team provides data, insights and best practice to better inform decision by G20 policy makers.
As an active member of the G20, she advocates for infrastructure as an asset class that will enable our transformative recovery towards a greener future.
Marie Lam Frendo
Prior to joining the GI Hub, Marie was the Head of Asia-Pacific for Acuity, the advisory services business of the SNCL group, helping clients regarding infrastructure project strategy and finance.
From 2011 to 2014, she headed the Infrastructure Initiatives department of the World Economic Forum, led thought leadership activities, and published thought leadership reports on best practices in the infrastructure sector, and discussed at coalitions such as the B20 and the G20.
Marie holds an MSc of Civil Engineering from EPF, an MSc of Marketing and Strategy from ESCP-EAP (Paris), and an MSc of Management and Leadership from WEF – in partnership with LBS and INSEAD.
She is also a Global Leadership Fellow of the World Economic Forum.
Marie will share with CWF and our partners her passion for business and international development and her leadership for women in STEM and women in Infrastructure.
